What are digital x-rays?
Digital X-rays differ from traditional X-rays most notably in that they reduce the amount of radiation exposure to patients. After a digital X-ray is taken, it can be viewed instantly on a computer screen. These images can be viewed in ways never possible. Pictures can be enlarged, enhanced, and measured. What this means for patients is better diagnosis and earlier treatment of dental problems.
Why we do it.
We use digital technology for 2 reasons. (1) It is safer and easier for children, and (2) It helps us communicate with parents.
What to expect.
Education and communication with patients and parents is now easier than ever. Parents can understand what is going on in their child’s mouth and can make better decisions to maintain oral health.
